At the heart of the Critical Access Group are the core values that motivate us -- compassion, stewardship and family. All of us have dedicated our careers to helping others out of a genuine compassion. At the same time, if there is no margin, there is no mission, so we must all be good stewards of the dollars involved in planning, finance, design, construction and operation as well as service delivery. Rural communities will always have the advantage of being family-oriented environments, and the key institutions of church, school and hospital are the three legs of the stool that support a community. A group of like-minded, compassionate, talented and experienced professionals have now joined together to help communities maintain and strengthen the hospital leg of the stool.
The Critical Access Group is a consortium of professional service firms who have been chosen to participate in an endeavor to provide capital improvement for rural health care communities in a completely new way. Each of the professional service firms benefits from knowing that the other team members serving the hospital are all strong links in the chain of services provided. The hospital benefits from having a total team of well-qualified, experienced professionals.
The set of services and the service delivery process were developed in a simple, but nevertheless unique way — we asked hospital administrators, leaders in rural healthcare systems, state and national associations and the political arena.
What they told us was that the cornerstones of the process would be ‘choice’, ‘open book’, ‘simplification’, project management to eliminate change orders’, incremental steps to minimize financial commitments’, single source point of contact’ and ‘trust’.
A simplified description of our service is that of ‘trusted advisor’, one who works closely with you through all phases providing both alternatives and recommendations.
That trusted advisor is now the Critical Access Group.
